My creativity with colours was inspired very early on by the artwork of my grandfather, the local painter Max Maertins from Neuenhagen. But it was in 2014 when I found the time to reflect on my artistic roots that I finally discovered my own creative path.

I spent many hours at Axel’s side in his studio exchanging ideas with him about the “real seeing” and art and colours. Eventually, under his guidance as his first student, I practised my own first designs and painting projects.

One of the most important aspects of art for me is the ability to see – not only for the artist, but also for the viewer. Our senses are almost dulled by the flood of images we are exposed to every day. But if you relax, take your time to look at a painting without distraction and let what you see flow through your consciousness you will leave the experience with great impressions and feelings.
