I have had a fascination for photography since my childhood. It began in a darkroom when, for the very first time, I watched how the development of exposed film made images that were hidden suddenly visible.

I took my first steps as a professional photographer in Cuba for the music magazine, “Clave”. I worked alongside my mentor, Juan José Vidal Hernandez from whom I learned how to combine technical precision and artistic ambition.

I always try to study a subject from every possible angle and include its relation to the world surrounding it to be able to capture its essence in as detailed a way as possible. Showing the context of objects is the reportage approach that runs like a thread throughout my work. I am particularly interested in making portraits of people that tell their story and to celebrate nature and its beauty in every shape and every type of weather.

I have expanded the last ten years of my career to include an additional professional field that is closely related to photography graphic design, which is based on the same basic principles that apply to the fine arts. Patience is a part of my character that adds to my photographic skills – to be able to wait for the right moment, for the perfect sunlight, for the optimal arrangement of raindrops, for the smile that transforms a face, or even the perfect combination of all three.
